Who Is Small Guide Travel?

Ian Heydon has travelled extensively through Europe, the UK, Asia and the US. He first visited Vanuatu in 1999 for a holiday. That two-week break turned into three fantastic years. On returning to Australia in 2003 he applied for a travel agent's licence to specialise in romantic breaks to Vanuatu. He, and business partner Jenny, formed Small Guide Travel with the philosophy of offering local knowledge, personal service and competitive prices. While Ian and his family live in Queensland these days, he visits Vanuatu regularly and always finds something new and wonderful. Jenny Cowles has worked in the travel industry since 1994 with international, domestic and regional airlines within Australia and more recently Internet travel companies. Jen has travelled to the UK, USA, Asia and most of the South Pacific Islands. Jen's love of the tropics came about through frequent visits to Vanuatu, Fiji and the Cook Islands for work and pleasure. She loves the relaxed lifestyle, friendly people, and beautiful landscapes, and, since June 2008, she and husband Roland have made Port Vila their home. Jenny is 'on the ground' to assist Small Guide Travel guests travelling to Vanuatu.

Laura Gant Laura joined Small Guide Travel in early 2004 with a comprehensive background in organising travel and having travelled throughout Europe, North America, Asia and Australia. She has also visited Vanuatu, Fiji, Tonga and the Cook Islands for both work and holidays and has enjoyed cruising the Pacific with P&O. Laura is the Small Guide Travel cruising expert and can assist with on-board advice, what to do when the ship docks in various ports and can organise weddings for couples (and their guests) if the cruise has Vanuatu on its itinerary.

Paul Turner joins the Small Guide team in Auckland offering personal service and local knowledge to travellers wanting to explore the wonderful tropical paradise of Vanuatu. Paul is an avid diver, a keen fisherman, and always enjoys a fine meal in a beautiful waterfront setting. Paul has travelled extensively throughout the world, and looks forward to sharing his love of the Pacific with you.
